A Wound in Memory
Gallusar thought these heroes would be easy to break: knights bound by honor, saints bound by faith, outlaws bound by justice, lovers bound by tragedy, and kings bound by crowns heavier than their bones. But Romance did not come quietly. It arrived in the Edge as ruined courts, candlelit chapels, tournament fields, rebel forests, and castles whose banners still burn after the armies are gone. Every stone carries a promise. Every blade asks whether honor is still honor when the world has turned against it. Romance is not softness. It is the cruelty of ideals. To the Bard, Romance asks one question: what would you die for, if death could not end the song?
