A Wound in Memory
Gallusar thought he had stolen kings, queens, storm gods, warrior mothers, griots, hunters, founders, and rebels. But Savannah did not arrive as a stolen land. It arrived as a rhythm. It came into the Edge as red earth beneath a burning sky, golden plains, sacred rivers, masked shrines, ancestral fires, and cities whose names are still spoken by drums long after their walls have fallen. Here, the dead are not gone. They stand behind the living, watching, judging, guiding. The heroes of Savannah carry lineage like armor. To master Savannah is to understand that memory is not behind you. It marches with you.
